The City of Barrie proudly presents Barrie Winterfest each year, a community tradition and one of the top winter festivals in Ontario.
The 2026 event features favourite winter activities all day, including spectacular ice sculptures, lumberjack shows, family entertainment, drop-in activities, skating and much more!

Hosted by the Barrie Public Library, families are invited to attend a winter-themed storytime in front of the fireplace at the MacLaren Art Centre. Sign-up and stay for the MacLaren's special Family Sunday workshop in the Pie Education Centre afterwards, or drop by the library for Checkmates, our kid's chess drop-in program.

👩🍳 Recipe of the Week: Creamy Three-Cheese Spaghetti
Three-cheese, please! This ultra-creamy, cheesy spaghetti is as simple and comforting as you can get; only a few basic ingredients and 20 minutes are needed for the ultimate weeknight pasta dinner. This simple recipe is made even simpler by calling for a pre-shredded Italian cheese blend instead of going through the trouble of buying three separate cheeses and shredding them yourself. The three cheeses combine with heavy cream, chicken broth, garlic, and a sprinkling of even more cheese (!!) for a rich weeknight dinner that will give classic spaghetti & meatballs a run for its money.
