🏡 Curbside Giveaway Day

Curbside Giveaway Days take place twice per year in Barrie, in the spring and in the fall. The event is a chance to give gently used or unwanted items a second life, and/or find new-to-you items others are giving away. It’s like a garage sale but without the money exchange. Everything you place at the end of your driveway or lawn on the specified day is free for others to pick up.

Starting at 8am on Curbside Giveaway Day, place your items at the curb and clearly mark them as “FREE”. Anything that does not find a new home must be taken back in by 9pm the same day, as there is no special municipal collection.

📅 Saturday September 19th - 8 a.m.

🎨 Wild Canada in 3D: A Children’s Wildlife Sculpture Workshop @ The Barrie Library

Join Carolyn for a creative afternoon where children and families can explore Canadian wildlife through painting, sculpture, colour, and imagination.

Carolyn M. Boyd is an award-winning Canadian landscape artist whose work is inspired by the beauty of Ontario’s natural world. From the shores of Kempenfelt Bay and Georgian Bay to the forests and lakes of Muskoka and beyond, her colourful paintings celebrate Canada’s landscapes, wildlife, water, changing seasons, and the stories found within the places around us.

In Wild Canada in 3D, participants will create their own small three-dimensional Canadian wildlife sculpture to take home.

Children can choose from a selection of iconic Canadian animals, including the moose, black bear, red fox, grey wolf, great horned owl, white tailed deer, beaver, Canada goose, common loon, and polar bear.

The workshop is designed primarily for children ages 5–12, but youth, teens, adults, seniors, parents, grandparents, and caregivers are all welcome to participate.

📆 Sunday September 20th - 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
