With winter on our doorstep, we prefer shorter, closer hikes with the family. Where better than to explore than right here in Barrie?

The Bear Creek Eco-Park trail is a 1.4km out-and-back hike that takes around 30 minutes to complete but lets you experience both small forest and wetland terrain. Expect to see lots of birds like geese, ducks, and red-winged blackbirds.

Difficulty: Easy, perfect setup to bring a sled for the kids if the lake effect snow hits 🌨️.

Getting there: Park in the lot at 121 Ferndale Drive South.
