🥾 🍁 🌞 Fall Hike Adventure @ Copeland Forest

Copeland Forest in Hillsdale is one of the loveliest forests in southern Ontario. The forest features 200+ kilometres of trails is full of lush undergrowth, towering old pines, unusual wildflowers and ferns, and, of course, hectares of maples, oaks, beeches, birches and evergreens.

It’s our favourite fall hiking location and the perfect spot to get into nature and enjoy fall colours. Check out the trail map before visiting. There are tonnes of trails ranging from beginner to advanced, so planning your hike is key.

🎨 🚀 Family Sundays @ Maclaren Art Centre

Work on a creative project together as a family! Join a local artist who will present you with a variety of different and exciting mediums for your creation. The projects are designed for kids to work in a collaborative way with their parents to make a piece of art, created together, to take home. This weekend's topic is ‘out in space’. 

The first workshop runs from 1 to 2 pm and the second from 2:30 to 3:30 pm. Each workshop has a maximum capacity of 25 participants. Tickets are $5 and registration opens 1 hour prior to the workshop at the front desk.

🎫 Get Your Tickets to Matilda the Musical

From November 22nd to 24th the Kempenfelt Community Players are putting on a production of Matilda the Musical. The beloved children’s book musical adaptation is packed with high energy dance numbers and catchy songs. Children and adults alike will love seeing the story come to life.

🥘 Recipe of the Week: Pumpkin Pie

It’s time to put that Halloween decor to good use and spend some time with the family cooking the most delicious pumpkin pie!

As per the recipe, you can make the entire pie the day before and store it in the refrigerator, or prepare the pie crust and filling the day before, and store them separately in the fridge until ready to bake the next day.

🚨 Calling all kids who love to learn how things work

On Wednesday, November 6th take a FREE tour of Barrie’s Surface Water Treatment Plant and learn how Barrie’s water is treated, from the source to the tap in your home.

Tours begin promptly at the start time and will last approximately 1 hour. Please arrive 5–10 minutes before the tour begins. The guided tour takes participants throughout the plant. If you have any questions, please contact the Water Operations Branch at 705-792-7920.
