Look to the skies over Barrie’s beautiful Kempenfelt Bay as iconic aircraft perform inspiring displays of aviation wonder, including the Canadian Forces Snowbirds celebrating their 55th show season. Plus enjoy a weekend in Barrie filled with entertainment and activities for the whole family.
New this year, the 2026 Barrie Airshow features a special twilight air display on Saturday evening ending with a fireworks finale!

♻ Curbside Giveaway Day @ Barrie
Curbside Giveaway Days take place twice per year in Barrie, in the spring and in the fall. The event is a chance to give gently used or unwanted items a second life, and/or find new-to-you items others are giving away.
It’s like a garage sale but without the money exchange. Everything you place at the end of your driveway or lawn on the specified day is free for others to pick up.
Participating in Curbside Giveaway Day is easy:
Gather up items around your home that are no longer used, but that other people might like to have (toys, books, furniture, sporting goods, small appliances, tools, art, etc.). Now that the City has moved to automated cart collection, your old green bin and garbage containers can be repurposed for storing items or as a reusable yard waste container; however if you no longer need them, consider setting them out for Curbside Giveaway Day (clearly labelled as “FREE”).
Starting at 8am on Curbside Giveaway Day, place your items at the curb and clearly mark them as “FREE”.
Look for free treasures around your neighbourhood!

🎭 Barrie Theatre Festival @ Theatre by the Bay
10 Days. 6 Productions. One Great City. For ten days each June, Barrie becomes a destination for professional live theatre.

The Barrie Theatre Festival, presented by Tourism Barrie, is a carefully curated celebration of storytelling — bringing together acclaimed touring artists, bold new Canadian work, and performances selected for their artistic excellence and audience appeal.
This is not an open-call fringe. Each production is chosen with intention — to surprise, to entertain, and to create conversation. The 2026 Festival features nationally touring artists, a Broadway performer whose journey began in Barrie, and original works created in Central Ontario. Each show runs under an hour, allowing you to experience multiple productions in a single visit.
