🚣 Try out rowing on National Come Try Rowing Day

The Barrie Rowing Club is opening their doors this Saturday to anyone ages 12 and older who want to give rowing a try. This is a free introductory rowing session designed to provide individuals new to rowing with their first on-water experience in a safe and welcoming environment.

🛝 Park of the Week: Johnson’s Beach Park

If you want to get away from the chaos of Kempenfelt Beach Park this weekend take a walk down the North Shore Trail to Johnson’s Beach Park for some quiet and relaxation with the family. This park features a sandy beach and is right by the Barrie Yacht Club for some great boat watching kids will love.

There is no playground at this park. The washrooms are open seasonally, 7am–7pm daily (including holidays).

📍 2 Johnson Street. Barrie.

🥘 Recipe of the Week: Kale Salad with a Carrot Ginger Dressing

As the weather warms up, there’s nothing better than to celebrate spring and the beginning of the local growing season than with a fresh salad. Kale is a great alternative to lettuce because it’s packed with important nutrients and is more filling than a traditional romaine or iceberg. Feel free to substitute a dressing of your choice and any toppings the family will love.
